The
Patricia Douglas' Youth Empowerment Foundation will give a scholarship
in the memory of our friend and supporter, Delores Groves. The scholarship
will go to a child in her church, The House of Prayer Ministries, in Baltimore,
MD.
Delores
Groves passed on to be with the Lord quite suddenly on October 29, 2006.
She will be sorely missed but her compassion, dedication to God's agenda
for her life, as well as her care and devotion to her church's Youth Ministry,
lives on within the hearts and lives of many.
Delores earned her
diploma of practical nursing from Dorchester General Hospital in 1970,
and later attended the Robert Tilton School of Ministry Bible College
in Connecticut where she received a certificate of ministry.
Delores joined the Johns Hopkins Bayview community in October 1994, as
an LPN on the Chesapeake Unit in the Care Center. Throughout her tenure,
she worked on several nursing units until she accepted the role of staffing
coordinator in 2000.
Delores touched the lives of many people in the Care Center and was one
of the facility's finest employees. Her warm smile, tender spirit and
caring demeanor will always be remembered. She was always meticulously
dressed and in addition to her tirelessly working within the church, she
was also a make-up artist and Mary Kay Cosmetics Representative. She was
a generous woman and gave her absolute best in everything her hand, mind,
and heart touch. She lived the scripture, 1 Corinthians 10:31, "...whatever
you do, do it all for the glory of God."
Delores Groves is survived by her #1 and only son, Michael Williams, Frances
Williams, mother, and several other family members.
